This is a vintage 1960s maxi dress made in a sleeveless halter style, perfect for a garden party. The maxi dress is made of a bold floral printed chiffon that has a little stiffness, somewhat like an organza. The chiffon is layered over a green taffeta fabric. The dress has an empire waist, an exposed back and is cut to flare out to the hemline with a wide pleat at the centre front that starts under the waist line. It does up the back with a nylon zipper and a hook and eye and has a tie at either side of the waistline that would tie at the back. There is a “stay” stiffener at either side of the bodice.
